Canada's 100 Most Important Books

Another arbitrary list has reared its head. This one is of Canada's one hundred most important books as revealed by the Literary Review of Canada. Nominations were open to contributors and readers and a jury then decided the final 100. They went in chronological order instead of any kind of ranking. I saw one Newfoundland book there--Wayne Johnston's The Colony of Unrequited Dreams. I loved that book so I'm glad it got there but, as I've said before, I never quite get these lists.
